Larry Sitsky Recital Room, ANU School of Music, William Herbert Pl, Acton ACT 2601
Callum Henshaw presents his second PhD recital. The program showcases captivating selection of works: the Greek mythology inspired Stélé by Melbourne-based composer Phillip Houghton; four imaginatively reinterpreted arrangements of traditional Catalan folk songs by Spaniard Miguel Llobet; English composer Malcolm Arnold’s guitar concerto (accompanied on the piano by Anthony Smith); and an Australian premiere of Cuban composer Leo Brouwer’s Sonata del Decamerón Negro. This concert is the second of a three-part series performed by Callum as part of his doctoral candidature.
